Plot summary

Wu Qingqing is an agent of the International Security Alliance (to combat mutant crime) and is ordered to infiltrate Medusa Plastic Hospital to collect evidence of the secret research on genetic induction fluid by its direct consortium to create mutant fighters. Wu Qingqing successfully infiltrates, but was forced to inject a gene induction fluid.

Round 1 - fight

Actually it doesn't look like there are more rounds - which did surprise me, considering how short the running time is ... so no pun intended as always of course. Another thing that did surprise me: the CGI effects! It is not that this looks super amazing, but for the low budget that this probably had, it is not too bad - not bad at all.Again suspension of disbelief is necessary, but that is true for many things here (including story of course). If you are into Science Fiction and Eastern movies (including fight and flight scenes) ... well you could do worse. I have no idea if there is a source material, but I would imagine there is ... there almost always is ... when it comes to movies like this. And if not before than surely after ... so if you still have questions, I am sure they can be answered ... as you can tell, I was not too curious.

The storyline is kept afloat by the CGI effects...

The 2022 Chinese action sci-fi movie "Mutant Ghost Wargirl" from director Binjie Liu was a movie that I had never heard about prior to sitting down and watching it here in 2023. I happened to stumble upon the movie by random chance, and of course I opted to watch it, given my fascination and love of the Asian cinema.And the movie was adequately entertaining. The storyline in the movie, however, was a bit bland and sort of not really all that deep. It is the type of movie where you just lean back and ride along for the action and visual effects.I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. But I will say that the actors and actresses in the movie did fair jobs with their given roles, especially since they didn't have all that much of a thoroughly deep script to work with.Visually then "Mutant Ghost Wargirl" was quite good. I liked the CGI effects in the movie, and given the fast pace of the movie, then the special effects were a welcomed addition. Especially since they helped to keep the otherwise bland storyline afloat. "Mutant Ghost Wargirl" is one among many recent movies of particularly great CGI to make it out of the Chinese cinema.Watchable for what it was, "Mutant Ghost Wargirl" is a movie that came and went without much of a ruckus. It is hardly a movie that I will return to watch a second time. If you have the chance to watch it, do so, especially if you enjoy Chinese action movies with good CGI effects.My rating of "Mutant Ghost Wargirl" lands on a five out of ten stars.
