Plot summary

Kyla is a skilled genealogy researcher who’s made a thriving business of putting together family trees. When she comes across new information regarding her mother’s mysterious extended family, she and her sister travel to the charming town of Conifer, hoping to piece together their ancestry. The search leads Kyla to a generations-old Christmas tree farm, its stubborn but handsome owner… and, possibly, love.

Actually had substance!

This was pretty darn good I was surprised and happy! My husband sat through the whole movie with me which he rarely does and he mentioned that this movie actually had substance! Loved the mystery plot. Loved that there was more than one story line acting was very good. One of the best Christmas movies I've seen this year. I rated it seven out of 10. Beautiful scenery and I loved the gorgeous cabins and furniture craftsmanship. It is rare that I ever watch any of these movies more than once but I look forward to seeing this one again. The relationship between the male lead and the female lead was believable.

Barely memorable

We have a genealogy researcher with a clever start to the movie. The sad thing about this movie is a week later we accidentally recorded it again and watched it for a while before we convinced ourselves we'd already watched it. Then a few details about the ending came to me.In some of these movies the characters show real life and spirit ... bigger than life without going over the top. This isn't one of those movies. The actors' emotions never rise to the level of really ENJOYING their performances. They're realistic, but realistic doesn't really get what we need in these movies, which is rich personality.It's a rather flat watch, and, for us, not worth a rewatch.
