We're strippers, not hookers

Set in France, we meet Manon, who is seeking a way to make more money so she can move out of her shared apartment. She sees a club, "My Sole Desire" and inquires. The man at the desk tells her to go downstairs and see what is involved. The rules are quite explicit. No sex, and it is a very small club, not many seats, yet a large number of dancers. A small stage, and parlor rooms where private dances are given, as long as no touching by the man. That stretches the imagination as to reality. Manon sees the pay, likes what is going on, and takes the name Aurora. She also develops a deep friendship with another dancer, Mia. Yes, there is a lot of nudity, but more sensual, for entertainment of those watching who then give more money. What happens is that Aurora is lured by money, and starts doing things on the side, where she can earn more money in a couple of months doing private events than she can in a year sat the club. So she starts hooking, and doesn't want to give that up. Mia, on the other hand, is hoping to get into the Conservatory for acting. She also has a daughter, and a boyfriend who looks after her daughter. One sees the camaraderie among the dancers and the support they give each other. But is it realistic in portraying stripping? It is an interesting movie, however. Since it is French, a lot of smoking.

How do you Define Desire?

My Sole Desire takes you on a journey about a woman's desire to find her identity and she goes down a dark path but as this is french cinema it is actually done tastefully.Not only are you on a path of self-discovery, but you are also going on a journey about love.I found this on SBS on Demand in Australia, free to stream and watch.Although this is done tastefully, do not take this to be the norm in the world of strip clubs; sex and all those desires are not something that Hollywood or international cinema portrays them to be. Realistically, it's a dark world down there, and you have to be ready for it.This is not suitable for the kids, but I would advise that you consider it if you are going to study Psychology, social work, or social science, as it could be used as study material.A decent foreign film for the subject matter and story its trying to tell you.

Dirty Peach

It actually looked away at times. Quite boring waste of time and money at triple speed to watch, short-sighted, trivial, tasteless, lengthy. See nothing, feel nothing, learn nothing from his body of work, but also revealed his extremely low directorial ability ridiculous, so embarrassing, the reason for wasting everyone's time on a conductor has something to do with vomiting. Possibly the worst film ever, apart from the sequence, that was restaged. This is just another commercial that been funded by lunatic tobacco company, do nothing just smoking, naked, nude only, if don't know how to make a movie, don't waste money & time.

Recommended Coco Ferme & Hilma, better than this a a lot.
