A Quiet Kind of Warmth

Watching My Sunshine (2024) felt easy in the best way. It's so fresh and light, like the film isn't trying to prove anything, just letting you sit with it. I found myself relaxing into the story, enjoying the quiet moments as much as the bigger emotional ones. Nothing felt rushed or overly dramatic, which made it feel real.What I really liked is how gentle the film is. The emotions come through naturally, without being spelled out. It reminded me that not every story needs to be loud to be meaningful. By the end, I didn't feel overwhelmed, just warm and calm, like I had spent time with something sincere. It stayed with me in a quiet way, and that's what made it special to me.

What was that ending?

Don't leave things hanging like that, come on... It was Takuya who got hurt the most in this whole mess. If the ending had brought any sort of outcome I would've given this an eight, but to give us this story and just let it play out like that is most unserious. Or just very Japanese, lol... For two thirds this was truly a feelgood coming-of-age movie about a boy finding his true passion in the most unexpected and quirky way and actually succeeding at it and the scenes with the three of them on the lake were just pure magic. They gave us the sweetest chemistry only for Sakura's small-mindedness to ruin it all. And I wonder where she learned to think like that.I also had issues with the way the movie was shot, there was too much light in the shots and it didn't look pretty at all. Plus I think winter looks beautiful only in pictures and movies for me these days. It's certainly something to "suffer through" until spring comes where I live. I could feel the cold through the screen brrr...

In my 52 years of life, I've never seen a film in the theater this many times.It captures the brilliance of youth and the struggles of adulthood.And with visuals like a painting, every moment is breathtakingly magnificent.The songs by Humbert Humbert are wonderful.And the performances of these three actors are truly outstanding.
