The Same Old Trash...A Poor Film...

Well, it's just the same old trash isn't it? What you have here is a classic example of a funny concept for say a Family Guy sketch, which is stretched out over an hour-and-a-half, to rob the unsuspecting of money.Even the concept of this film is not explored to the full, with cheap, nasty script work, and predictable conclusion being the order of the day. The acting is poor, and the worst thing about this film is the payoff at the end, or lack thereof.Why Luke Wilson still gets film roles is beyond me, and now is probably the time for Uma Thurman to start doing costume dramas - she is not physically attractive, and to my mind, hardly ever was.Eddie Izzard, one of the world's most innovative, imaginative and hilarious comedians is reduced to a pithy, forgettable yet cringe-worthy role as the, "evil," bad guy of the piece, but has to stick with the pathetic script that he's been dealt and cannot add any of his own genius to the film.The special effects look cheap and nasty for this day and age, but are probably the best thing about this poor film.If you like the extremely mediocre, then you'll love this film. I think it's rubbish, and a waste of time and money.

Stupid, but funny.

Never had any interest in seeing this movie, but I caught in on HBO on a Sunday afternoon and found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions. Better than I expected. Worth watching if you're looking for some good light laughs. Luke Wilson is pretty hilarious when he takes a beating, but Rainn Wilson steals every scene he's in, pretty much playing a sex hungry version of Dwight Schrute. Throws some funny twists onto the Super hero/villain dynamic as well. It's a well thought out movie and an interesting take on the superhero genre, but most of the execution is mediocre; in the end some of the jokes work and some don't. 6/10
