A slow burn, but it has worthwhile characters and circumstances that keep your attention

I recently watched the first Dutch movie filmed in English, Obsessions (1966), on Tubi. The storyline follows a medical student staying in a hotel room. When a picture falls off the wall, he discovers a hole that peeks into the next room. He looks through the hole and sees something that will change the course of his life forever. This picture is directed by Pim de la Parra (Let the Music Dance) and stars Alexandra Stewart (Frantic), Dieter Geissler (Blue Movie), Tom van Beek (A Bridge Too Far), and Elisabeth Versluys (Black Rider). This is written much like a Hitchcock film, with every character feeling like they're plotting against one another. The acting feels very authentic and helps keep the film interesting. The plot takes several twists and turns as you piece together what's really happening. It can be a bit slow at times, and I definitely wished more happened as the story unfolded, but it leads to a strong conclusion. There's also a worthwhile and fun twist at the end.In conclusion, Obsessions is a slow burn, but it has worthwhile characters and circumstances that keep your attention. I would score it a 6.5/10.

Baloney!

Obsessions, honestly who could tell you what's really going on.

They had something to work with as far as the plot, but made a mess of it and the lead terrible. Yeah we're all doctor's, reporter's, photographer's, prostitute's and murderer's too... What's with the belts over the shirts? Marina putting her fingers inside like a pocket, surely not.
