Plot summary

A prisoner set on serving his time gets recruited to save a pregnant woman trapped in a tree during the Great Flood of 1927. A massive storm drives them farther from their destination and they soon must decide to go off on their own or find their way home.

Interesting, episodic, meandering; good acting

This story of a convict and a pregnant woman adrift in a small boat during a Mississippi flood. is well-handled. I haven't read the story by William Faulkner for years so I can't remember how closely it is followed. Good performances by Arliss Howard and Jeanne Tripplehorn.

one of the most interesting movies I have ever watched .

Well.all I can tell you is that I had watched this movie on the Israeli movie channels once and I just fell in love with it.Everything you wrote on the above comments are expressing my feelings too about this movie. and...... ever since I've been looking for this video to watch it again but couldn't find one.I was especially impressed by the acting of the main actor , the convict for me he is not such a famous actor,but I don't care , I think'he is a brilliant actor who really deserves all praises.If anybody has a disc of this movie please let me know .thank you Batsheva
