A below average debut

Unfortunately this movie was below average. Logic's writing leans very heavily into his biracial identity, but it doesn't really add anything to the movie, and gets boring fast after it is mentioned every 5 minutes. There were some funny moments, but overall I can't say I had fun watching this movie.The Tarantino-style direction needs much better writing, but for a movie like this, it just made it feel much much longer than the actual runtime. It felt like Logic had some good ideas and tried to mix all them into a single movie, but what's connecting these good ideas is below average dialogue.The acting is often over-the-top, which I don't mind, but it was one of the reasons I never felt this movie had any serious drama in it.Overall, it's always nice seeing new people in the movie business, but this is far from an instant classic, and I get why no publisher picked it up after the initial screening for a small audience. Good luck to Logic in the future, hopefully if he ever gets to make another movie, he'll work with better writers than himself. His books and now this movie proves that writing is not one of his best skills, but direction could be later down the line.

Ehhh

Huge logic fan since the start of his rap career. Had big expectations for this movie after his book "Supermarket". This movie is a solid 4/10 and I went in with high hopes cause I truly do love logic. No depth to this movie whatsoever. Tried to hard to be funny and lacked any real "twist" or "ah ha moment" felt like it was slapped together. Oliver tree was good and I truly felt like logics acting was good and can be good. Just needs better writing. Overall disappointed.
