By Order of The Peaky Blinders- A Worthy Farewell!

Being immersed in the Blinders world felt like connecting with an old friend again, except it's 1940 now a leap from 1919 Birmingham streets of season 1 all the way to the shadow of WWII Great Britain. The movie hooks you in right from the beginning, compelling and exactly what you'd expect from the Shelby familyBinging Peaky Blinders for the first time with my roommates back in 2020 was such a delight and some of those feelings came back while viewing this flick. Cillian Murphy brings his 'A' game as always being the suave cold calculating anti-hero! I ended up chuckling to myself because you know what's gonna happen to other characters when they talk to Thomas Shelby with even the littlest iota of disrespect...Uh-Oh!As always its a delight to see Tim Roth - (Reservoir Dogs/ Hateful 8) and Rebecca Ferguson-(Mission Impossible/ Silo ) held their own with such grace and decorum but Barry Keoghan ( Saltburn/ Banshees of Inisherin) astonished me without a doubt! His portrayal of Shelby's son, Duke, carries a chilling unpredictability (the family blood) that only Barry Keoghan can deliver! I had a reservation or two as to the impact of the overall story so I can't give it a complete perfect score. All in all, I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. Oi! Let's round it to 8!Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man comes to Netflix on March 20th and when the day arrives, PUT CAPTIONS ON, not as a recommendation but a necessity! SLAINTE!

PEAKy blinders

Attended the early red carpet premiere in Birmingham ✅Tommy Shelby is back blessing our screens once more! It follows the show and creates some high stakes involving World War Two and the Nazis, it shows Birmingham in that time and how vulnerable it was in its state of decay from Germany and the bombings and paints a true historical picture of that period that educates and honours those who lived through it. Tommy returns and is a tormented soul who struggles deeply which you can feel, he has lots of emotional moments that are rare for Tommy but make this stand out. Having him be with his son and try to reconcile that complex relationship is engaging with a legacy for Tommy which gets a lot of serious moments of them trying to connect in some way. Tommy is a badass in this, he is older but that doesn't stop him from doing some crazy cool stuff. The Nazis and Tommy and gang fighting each other has some amazing action packed thrilling scenes that feel like they have real high stakes. I like how focused this is on family and healing the Shelby name through many sad moments new and old from the show from the greats we've lost. The ending possibly solidifies the end of the peaky blinders story and it's going to be a bittersweet one but it's a great and solid ending to the characters and story we love.Attending this premiere was absolutely awesome! A great beautiful venue and seeing the cast attend the screening was wonderful.Cillian is great returning as Tommy and displays the torment he holds in him really well aswell as being a badass once more. Barry Keoghan is great as the son of Tommy taking up the mantle with difficulty and a youthful personality. Tim Roth as the bad guy is awesome, he is manipulative and calculated and yeah he's just really cool anyway as an actor. The soundtrack was a very key player in the film. Lots of music and songs throughout and I love what they did with the iconic song from the show and tweaked it a bit to fit the mood. Some great cinematography in this that elevates these emotional and pivotal character moments the film gives us.Peaky Blinders was peak once more!

The what is there but not why

The movie had me in tears of joy when it started (yes I am THAT fan). I understood the plot better than Duke. The movie format suited the plot points but did not suit the motivation(s) behind it.The key to Peaky Blinders wasn't the plot but the characters. They were each fully formed and flawed so you understood the why the character acted in a certain way (ex;:Arthur's marriage to Linda). But this movie seemed like a a series's season condensed into a 2 hour format. I think that it would have been better as a full season to explore the dynamics. The heart of PB was its ability to provide the characters as damaged humans. Here some of the series characters were mentioned then tossed aside. That said I will rewatch it on the small screen. By order of the Peaky Blinders.
