I liked Mara and the Medium Hildegard

I think the actors were truly great in this film, and each one brought a special energy to their character. The most impressive performance was by Mara - she carried both mystery and emotion with incredible depth. Her expressions and body language made her haunting presence unforgettable. The Medium, Hildegard, was so natural and amazing; the way she portrayed her role felt completely real and grounded, as if she was truly channeling another realm. The story itself unfolds as a gripping mystery set in San Francisco, and the city adds a rich atmosphere to the film - foggy streets, old houses, and the spirit of the Golden Gate all blend into the mood. The pacing keeps you engaged, and the sense of suspense builds beautifully. It's a film that combines mystery, the supernatural, and emotion in a way that feels both cinematic and deeply human.

THE ACTION WAS SUPER REAL

Possession of Mara seriously got under my skin. It's not your typical jump-scare horror - it's way more emotional and creepy in a quiet, disturbing way.The story follows Christopher, who's still messed up from losing his mom. He stops a woman from jumping off the Bridge, and you think, "Okay, this guy's doing something good," but then things get really weird. She's not just broken - she's possessed. And watching that slow unraveling is wild. The acting feels super real - like you actually believe these people. The cinematography makes San Francisco look hauntingly beautiful, especially the night scenes near the bridge. The sound design is also on point - it's subtle but keeps you tense the whole time.By the end, I was freaked out. It's the kind of horror that stays with you for a long time.

The Possession of Mara (2025)

Set against San Francisco's mist-draped streets and iconic architecture, The Possession of Mara delivers an atmospheric take on the supernatural thriller. Director Hassan "Doc" Zee - a seasoned filmmaker with multiple features to his credit - crafts a moody, character-driven story that blends horror, trauma, and redemption with genuine heart. The film makes striking use of its Bay Area locations, giving the story both visual depth and a sense of authenticity rare in indie horror.Though the pacing occasionally wavers, emphatic Foley art, and familiar genre tropes surface, Zee's confident direction and the strong performances from Alec Barnett and Aubrey Bence anchor the film. It's a thoughtful, well-intentioned effort that proves ambition and sincerity can outweigh budgetary limits. More than anything, it's a film of intention. It wants to transcend being "just another possession movie."
