Plot summary

Márta, a 40-year-old neurosurgeon, falls in love. She leaves her shining American career behind and returns to Budapest to start a new life with the man she loves. But she waits for him at the Liberty Bridge in vain - he does not appear at their rendezvous. Márta starts to search for him desperately, but when she finally finds him, the love of her life claims that they have never met before.

A masterpiece!

A wonderful movie. In a time of great absence of humanity and love in culture and all around us with mobile phones and thousands of unnecessary information bombarding us every day, this masterpiece restores my hope for salvation and the victory of beauty and kindness. In the daily madness and artificial speed imposed on me and the work I do as a doctor, this film really touched me deeply. Life is most beautiful where you love and are loved, and no material prosperity can replace that. Great actors, direction and story as well as beautiful Budapest! The deepest gift for the entire film crew. Thank you very much. Greetings from Belgrade.

Kept waiting for the plot to grow and . . .

This is one of those movies that had a lot of potential to develop, but for me it didn't delivery.Yes they're scrumptious scenes in Budapest. ( just added to my bucket list.) that ads to the movies theme, but in truth, there was nothing about. Marta or Janos the I could identify with.And then there's the son of a patient Marta saves his life. The kid falls in love and stalk Marta down in adolescence innocence, yet this sideshow ads nothing to the movie.We don't learn of Janos two daughters he has til the end of the film which does explain part of his behaviors.Director/writer Lili Hovart does an admirable job at her first film debut. The film is engaging and I did keep watching it.One thing that did annoy me, were the many close-ups of Marta - profiles and full face of her looking whimsical , thoughtful or just lost. It got old,I was expecting more and just didn't get it.The ending was disappointing too, The huge, hanging speaker outside of her window , trying to fit in her. Apartment was the end. I wanted a much more solid ending. Not happening.
