Breast Milk Saves the Day

I started this movie while on holiday in Sydney and finally got around to finishing it tonight. An Indonesian love story that had Vollywood feels without the musical interludes.A story about childhood friendship that turns into love, sort of seeing or not seeing something that is right in front of your eyes. It's also a movie about good VS evil and how love always will trump evil or ill intentions.I have to mention this before I forget about a scene from a balcony that looks like something out of Disney's Aladdin, so magical. There is an adult topic of Rape in this movie that makes this movie not suitable for kids any anyone who is traumatically affected by it.Why the title, you may ask? Well, you have to watch the movie to see what it's about and how it affects the movie. This is a Muslim Indonesian movie, but it's based on faith and how God can save the day, although in this case, it's smart scriptwriters.I was at first hesitant to watch this movie, but I ended up glad to get through it, and it was a well-made movie.Recommended for something different.

Sweet love story

It was my 1st ever Indonesian movie and I really liked it. Tbh, yes it was a bit typical and predictable love story, and I found it too long. But I loved the main theme/message of the movie (to trust in God's plan), simple yet beautiful flow of the story, miracles or twists, and overall cinematography. It was a sweet and emotional movie. Every young people should watch it.The child actor who portrayed the main female lead did a really good job. Also, I really liked the fact that the couples didn't touch even once but still showed love, respect, and decency.

Disturbing Goat-Killing Scene Falls Flat

Seriously, it's 2025, and we're still subjected to cinema that depicts the forced, brutal killing of a goat by a child? What's even more disturbing is the implication, seemingly teaching young viewers that strength equates to harming creatures more vulnerable than themselves. This scene was not only gratuitous but deeply unsettling, making the entire viewing experience unbearable. I had to stop watching; the sheer cruelty was appalling and left me with a profoundly negative impression. I fail to grasp any artistic merit or narrative necessity for such a horrific depiction. It felt exploitative and utterly devoid of sensitivity. This single scene tainted the entire film, leaving me disgusted and questioning the filmmakers' intent. The impact was so severe that it overshadowed any potential merits the film might have possessed. My rating? A definitive 1 out of 10. This level of violence, especially involving children and animals, is simply unacceptable in contemporary storytelling.
