Plot summary

Québexit is a multi-lingual (English, French, Cree) ensemble political comedy: when a transnational pipeline leads to a successful third Québec sovereignty referendum, a small road at the Québec-New Brunswick border becomes a lighting rod of conflict between the new Québec military, the Canadian Armed Forces and two indigenous women who traverse the border frequently.

Canadian Equivalent to 'Civil War'

I know this came out before 'Civil War', but this movie really feels like the Canadian equivalent, and in terms of showing different factions it may even be better. I grew up in America, but have lived in Canada since high school, so I'm very familiar with Canadian regionalism, and this movie does represents some of Canada's different cultures and regional groups quite well.The characters were portrayed well and the writing was quite good...though sometimes I wasn't convinced certain characters would actually behave as they did.Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who has even a passing interest in Canadian politics.

It look like a dam high school project!

Acting skill is p**n level, no story, no budget! It's look like bungh of theater students who learn how to stole government subsidies money by pretending to make a movie! Your life time deserve better! Seriously... I can be very open mind and see almost everything... even some Sharknado... at least, they get visual FX and it's the point of the movie to do something that bad so it kind of funny! On that one, I only hold for half an hour before hanging up on that! Quebec have so much better to offer! I think that the last time I take time to do a review here is a decade ago but I can let that go when I saw that 6 stars review!!

I really enjoyed it

I loved this movie, the interactions between the two sets of characters felt genuine. All of the pointless bickering and grandstanding felt very genuine to how a breakup would go down.The politics felt very real to Canada and I love how the news broadcaster doesn't know where New Brunswick is. The whole indigenous angle to the story was one of my favourite parts of the whole movie, especially that scene at the end, which genuinely left me as nervous as the soldiers and other blockade members.This movie does a lot with very little and I enjoy it for that. Would recommend it, especially if you are Canadian, Quebecois or indigenous.
