An obvious twist

First things first: in terms of genre, Red Plague is a post-apocalyptic thriller/drama, with the emphasis clearly on the latter. There are definitely zombies in the film, but whenever real challenges arise for the protagonists, the cause is usually the living - although the zombies here aren't exactly dead either, but rather infected.I love zombie movies, but I usually dislike the "survivors versus other survivors" setup, which is also present here. That said, this film approaches it a bit differently, as it focuses on the protagonist's long-standing depression and guilt stemming from a loss he experienced two decades ago, along with the second chance he's given when a young woman fleeing a brutal group of bandits appears at his door.As in so many zombie films before, the man agrees to take the woman back to her group - a convenient reason for the two to wander through a desolate world filled with zombies and other unspeakable horrors. From there, the film concentrates on the psychological dynamics between the pair, something we've seen many times before, most recently in The Last of Us.It's a decent film, but the pace is fairly sluggish, so don't expect much action or suspense - the time is clearly spent letting the relationship dynamics evolve. In fact, much of the action isn't particularly effective at all; at times it feels as though even someone raising a hand to slap another person is treated as a breathtaking event. The big plot twist is obvious early on, so I found myself simply waiting for it - and indeed, it's saved for the very end.

Very Dull Apocalyptic Affair of The Heart!

Oh my where do I start with this bore fest of an apocalyptic movie? The slow pacing is so painful and the flashbacks through out the movie are just as boring it makes you wonder why they bothered to make this movie in the first place?I would say this is a drama before a horror as you hardly see any infected through the whole movie in truth? The two main characters have zero chemistry and all they do is talk about the obvious to remind the viewership that this movie is supposed to be an apocalyptic film. This movie will cure your insomnia and is this the worst movie I have seen for a while?Yes would be my answer so avoid the movie like the plague as you will be doing yourself a big favour!

Watchable but somewhat dull

A watchable film. This is not a zombie film. I'm not even sure it can be referred to as a post-apocalyptic film. It sort of merges the two themes together, but it is basically two people wandering through a desert landscape where they must avoid bad people. When they do inevitably run into the bad people there's some action but not much.Film is predictable. The main star can be a bit annoying as he hasn't got an emotion in him. The leading female star plays her part really well.A sort of twist at the end but you will already have guessed it long before the end.
