Plot summary

A debt-ridden father takes advantage of an unforeseen situation to disappear and live off the grid under a false identity. But a chance event occurs and the temptation to want to know his family resurfaces.

Tense and Well Acted with a Thought Provoking Ending

This clever thriller really got me in and kept me guessing. It's the story of a devoted family man who takes the desperate measure to disappear in order to protect his wife and children from a ruthless loan shark. Much of the interest from that point in the movie comes from the brilliant acting by Joaquin Furriel who conveys the heartbreak of losing his family entirely through his demeanour and facial expressions. It's a sacrifice that I think few people would make. His new life, and that of his family unfold in very believable and poignant ways, but as you watch them there is a constant sense that the new arrangement can't last. The final part of the movie is gripping and ultimately surprised me. I thought that the ending was perfect, and like all really satisfying endings it was thought provoking, leaving me wondering how things would pan out from that point.

Rather lame second half

I liked the first half of the movie, as the beleaguered hero quits his old life and starts afresh; this was well done, and you could sympathise with his motives for taking this way out.But I think it began to run out of steam in the second half of the movie. I was hoping for some clever plotting when Sergio returned to his previous home to find out how his wife and children were doing, but nothing much happened, and the ending was a bit up in the air. I think there should definitely have been less focus on Sergio setting up his new life, and more time spent on what happened when he went back home.I also didn't understand why he appeared to have aged about 30 years in the 15/16 years he'd been away, while both his wife and girlfriend looked exactly the same. Couldn't they have at least given these ladies different hairstyles or something, to age them a bit?Entertaining movie, but could have been much better, in my opinion.

Good movie

Very good movie, with great twists during the movie.At first I was surprised by the events that the main character was having to do to continue his life.Again I was surprised but this time not much (kind of expected) in the middle of the movie I believe he took desperate attitudes, but it was due to the situation he got into, but.... He could have done better in other decisions he made!Already finishing the movie, he tried to help himself and help the family, but... I can't say lol, but the end of the movie was "emotional", summing up a good movie in the category he is in. I just thought I could have told you better about my children's lives.
