A crying baby in literally every scene

In fairness, the movie is about a crying baby so I guess one should expect it, but seriously like 80% of the dialogue has a crying baby soundtrack at near equal volume. Sometimes the parents are trying to get the baby to stop crying, and other times they just carry on with a baby crying throughout the entire scene. I'm guessing that whoever wrote this recently had a baby and it didn't go well.

This uneven film has an uninteresting plot dealing with Maria (Laura Weissmahr) who's married to Nico (Oriol Pla) and at first they form a happy couple excited about a new child. María a writer and first-time mother who is silently fighting postpartum depression when she then comes across the shocking news of a French woman who drowned her 10-month-old twins. María is transfixed by the disturbing case, and prompting takes her own journey through the complexities of motherhood. Later on, things go wrong.A slightly tense film, which examines the personality of a new mother who is deeply distressed and stressed due to postpartum depression. The movie explores the most terrifying side of motherhood: regret.'Ave Maria' unfolds a slow and heavy plot that becomes long and boring. The film develops slowly and deliberately, deeply tiring the viewer since hardly anything happens, adding the continuous cries of the baby that puts the audience on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The plot, which at first seemed interesting, is about a new mother who, after hearing some terrible news about a woman who drowned her infant twins , becomes stressed and as a result, a shadow of infantilism will stalk her as a dizzying possibility; however, its development is slow, tiring and deliberately paced. The last half hour partially saves the picture when the story becomes a little more lively and as the protagonist finally goes outside and walks through the beautiful Catalan fields from La Vall de Boí, Lleida, Catalonia, Spain; adding an intriguing music that also elevates the flick somewhat against the continuous boredom. The film was mediocre, poorly directed by Mar Coll. After more than ten years without releasing a feature film, Mar Coll loosely adapts the novel "Las Madres No" by Katixa Agirre in Salva Maria. Mar Coll had previously directed : ¨Tres días con la familia¨ y ¨Todos queremos lo mejor para ella¨ and TV series as ¨Killing the Father , and ¨Asi no es Suecia¨. Rating Salve Maria (2024): 4.5/10. The movie got 10 wins & 15 nominations, such as: 2025 Winner Goya Best New Actress Laura Weissmahr, Nominee Goya Best Adapted Screenplay Mar Coll, Valentina Viso.
