Plot summary

Teacher Amarida (Ichihara Hayato) has been transferred to a new school and is still crazy about school lunches. He gets the shock of his life when school lunches are made more healthy but less flavorful. Amarida’s student rival Kamino (Sato Taishi) has also transferred to the same school and is outraged at the changes to school lunches.

Cringey but Super Fun!

I have never watched the School Meals series, but now I do. I don't have online access in the US, but I heard that you can watch it on Amazxn in Japan (w/o any subtitles though).The movie is super cringey. So if you dislike such kind, skip this. If you don't mind, you will have lots of laughs for 2 hours. It is full of slapstick comedy and exaggerated moves. The teacher delivers internal monologues throughout the movie and acts strangely, but people around him either pretend not to see or show minor reactions. Literary license through and through.I also enjoyed hearing the story of obsession over lunch meals. I love food, and school lunches are a fun time. School meals are crappy in many of the public schools in the US, but it is often of high quality in other countries. Japanese school lunches are one of the best, and I was happy just watching characters eat them on screen.According to my research, this is the order in which the story continues.TV Series Season 1 > Movie 1 TV Series Season 2 > Movie 2 (Graduation) TV Series Season 3 / Movie 3 I dream of the day I get to watch all of them cringing and laughing at the same time.

Alright movie

I saw this on the plane and not sure if there's more of this or if there's a certain order to watch this but this movie although it was hilarious, and it's supposed to be comedy, I found it a bit stupid or just not too interested in the movie since it's only about a teacher who loves school meals but then there's a boy in the classroom who loves school meals and the teacher seems to always watch him eat and then overreacts to what the boy adds to his meals unlike the teacher who eats it separately, this then makes the film more cringey than funny, yes some reactions he makes are funny but having too many scenes with him overreacting makes it too cringey and plus Emirates plane didn't have any other Japanese movies I knew or any anime on so I had not very much choices but to watch this since I thought it would be a good movie.The whole film was just the teacher talking about food but was way too cringey.
