Does what it's supposed to do: make children happy

Since I am a kind man, I give the even better children their hype in the cinema. My late start into the 'Magical Animals' universe, but I was sure that with such format and corresponding age interpretation, any prior knowledge would not matter. German sauerkraut film authorities have therefore decided that a domestic 'Harry Potter' could be a win-win business for everyone. You could say the plan worked, as there seems to be quite a large fan cult here, but probably mainly among pre-teens. At first glance, this doesn't seem like a natural field for local filmmakers, but on closer inspection, it brings to mind the great folk tales on which all fantasy-related pop culture is based. On the technical side, the international-calibre production works reasonably well, but the shortcomings are still glaringly obvious. Wooden acting, the sepia filter that has almost become a trademark, the fortunately only subtle children's television ideology, the awful soundtrack consisting of what is known as German rap and trivial pop such as Taylor Swift and her ilk. Abroad, hardly anyone will take their hat off to our art. The focus seems to be on simple messages that are easy to convey. This is not inappropriate for the target audience, and fortunately, as I said before, I don't have to warn against attempts at brainwashing. All the necessary buttons are pressed reasonably well, a franchise that does what it's supposed to do: make children happy. However, I fear that the format will wear thin as the protagonists get older, or it will end up at the University of Magical Animals. The children enjoyed it, and that's what mattered. In a few years, that will certainly change, at least in terms of the desire to watch it again, and that's the difference between this and Harry Potter, for example.
