The main problem with this good first movie for the director, is that it seems to hesitate between crime and pure drama. In the topic, scheme, of the war vet who, once back home, gets involved in drug traffic to help his brother, I highly prefered 1988 FOR QUEEN AND COUNTRY, starring a young Denzel Washington. It was an assumed crime flick, radical, brutal, gloomy. This French one could have been on the same kind, but it failed for my taste. But it is a good film however, good cast and directing skills, promising. It is a matter of screenplay actually. But that's my own opinion. The main character, the war vet, is very moving, poignant, attracting empathy from the audience, at least me. A good little film that just could have been a bit better.
