Plot summary

Attractive and sexy 1960's era suburban housewives, all dressed in mid-century modern pitch-perfect styles, are hell bent on one-upping each other as "Hostess with the Mostess." They hold dinner parties that become increasingly boozy, flirtatious and wild -- and soon more than recipes get swapped.

Maybe a re-edit of "The Casserole Club"?

I haven't seen The Casserole Club, and there's very little info on this page for this film. If you go to the aforementioned film's page, you'll see more helpful info about the actors in Sex, Lies, and Sugar. If this ISN'T the same film redone or re-released, these actors have aged incredibly well in the ensuing 11 years. I was pleasantly surprised in this film overall. The apparent low budget shows, and some of the acting is a bit student filmish. Nonetheless, it's titillating enough, and you get some character development as well. Bob Dylan's daughter-in-law is the titular character, and the cast also has one of The Backstreet Boys!

confused by the overall low score

I watched this on youtube a few years ago and really enjoyed it. There were great layers of drama and emotion.
