Great Hallmark Choice

Easily one of the best Hallmark movies they've done in a while. Did not follow their super stereotypical formula. I liked the original story (at least original for Hallmark, idk if this was based on a book). I thought the acting was well done and so was the writing. And the 11 year old acted 11! Not like a 6 year old. I'm always happy to see that. I also dont like 4th wall breaks, but that's a personal style choice. Overall a great pick for Hallmark christmas this year.

Naughty-or-Nice Inspector Storyline Makes for Interesting Hallmark Formula Twist

Isabel Haynes (Lacey Chabert) is an inspector for Naughty or Nice Consultants. She is tasked with determining which children belong on Santa's famous list. The formula twist is Isabel speaks directly to the audience through the first 2/3 of the movie as she tells you about the strict regulations she follows to make her determinations, the challenges of being undercover, and techniques for ferreting out naughty behavior. The last third is more like the traditional Hallmark formula. The twist carries this storyline and make it a delightful watch.In this movie, Isabel is assigned to the Charley (Cadence Compton) investigation. She is being considered for the naughty list for stealing a $20 bill. During the investigation, Isabel meets Charley's widowed father, Jason Duncan (Andrew Walker), and her carefully ordered world begins to unravel.As Isabel spends more time on the case, she becomes emotionally close to both Charley and Jason. She is torn between her duty to deliver an impartial naughty decision and her feelings for both. Can she uphold her inspector's code of ethics and deliver a fair verdict on Charley, or will she resign and follow her heart? It's Hallmark, you likely know where this story is going....or maybe this time you will be surprised! You'll have to watch to find out.

No chemistry

Andrew Walker has great chemistry with just about any Hallmark actress he's paired with, but there was no real chemistry between him and Lacy Chabert. She's the same in every movie and it's getting a little old. Andrew was underutilized and the child character was not adorable enough to carry the movie. Plot was tired and predictable, which is ok when the characters have great chemistry, but that wasn't the case here.
