Justice for skyler

Came for drayton and dallas but watched this all the way through for skyler and skyler alone. Good lord Charlie and his beautiful tortured eyes will be the death of me. The way he yearns and his insane chemistry with everyone. This is the first and only time i ever wanted the second lead to get the girl. But he deserves better than that. She'd break his heart. Also his singing voice is so gorgeous, they did him dirty with the autotune.

Plot idk- The music video scene YES

There wasn't much plot, but despite there not being much to the story, the characters were enjoyable. The ML didn't have much to his character this time, but all the other characters felt fun and real. Despite Skylar being kinda creepy, Charlie Gillespie was so fun. He had way better chemistry with the lead actress. Their characters idk. But the music video scene is hands down the best scene. The music numbers by Charlie Gillespie were highlights in a fun YA romdrama.I will surprisingly be tuned in for the next one.

This is a cute sequel to the original film. I mean, it really is.

Sidelined 2: Interception leans fully into its identity as a heartfelt, corny, streaming-era sequel, and that self-awareness ends up being one of its biggest strengths. This isn't a film trying to reinvent sports dramas or teen romances-it knows exactly what lane it's in and commits to it. Think Hallmark emotion mixed with a Dawson's Creek-style teenage melodrama, layered with just enough twists to keep things engaging rather than predictable. The story builds naturally off the first film, which is why watching the original beforehand feels essential. The sequel doesn't waste time rehashing what already worked but instead pushes the characters into more complicated emotional territory. The introduction of Skyler is particularly effective, not because it feels shocking for the sake of shock, but because it challenges the stability of relationships the audience thought were settled. The film plays with expectations, adding tension and uncertainty without betraying its core tone. The screenplay is surprisingly thoughtful for this type of film. It sprinkles in red herrings and emotional misdirection that make you question where things are headed, while still delivering the comfort and familiarity fans of the genre want. The dialogue can be cheesy at times, but that cheesiness feels intentional and aligned with the film's overall style rather than accidental or sloppy.Casting is easily the film's strongest asset. The ensemble feels cohesive, and the performances elevate material that could have easily fallen flat in less capable hands. The actors sell the emotional stakes, making the conflicts feel genuine even when the plot leans into melodrama. That chemistry is what ultimately carries the film and makes the sequel feel justified.Sidelined 2: Interception isn't aiming for prestige cinema, but it succeeds at being an entertaining, emotionally driven follow-up. If you enjoy sports romances with teenage drama flair and aren't afraid of a little corniness, this sequel delivers exactly what it promises-and does so with confidence.
