No Christmas Joy

The main character Adam was the most self righteous, unlikable and arrogant person I've seen in a Christmas movie in a very long time. He runs a small Christmas toy drive and has the ego and self aggrandizing personality of a man that's saving the entire human race from the end of the world and the inability to seem even remotely comfortable in the most ordinary of human interactions or experiences. Zero chemistry, zero fun and zero entertainment in this utterly forgettable movie.

Watchable, but rather formulaic...

Sure, I was not familiar with the 2024 movie "Snowy With a Chance of Christmas" from writer John Dion and director Nicholas Humphries, but I still opted to sit down and watch it as part of my 2024 Christmas movie marathon.Truth be told, I have to say that from the movie's cover alone, I was figuring that I would be in for an archetypical sappy Christmas movie. And sure enough, writer John Dion did indeed stay true to the how-to-write-a-sappy-Christmas-movie blueprint, for better or worse. That means that if you enjoy sappy Christmas movies, then you're in for a blast, but if you want something more than another formulaic Christmas movie then you're not going to be thrilled.I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, but I will say that the acting performances were fair.Watchable, for sure, but director Nicholas Humphries did not revolutionize the Christmas movie genre by any means.This is not a movie that I will sit down to watch a second time.My rating of "Snowy With a Chance of Christmas" lands on a five out of ten stars.
