The best of the bunch

Lasse Åberg follows up his big Swedish sucess, with a third movie in the series about the socialy akward Stig Helmer.I find this movie have overtime grown to be the best in the series with the first one and "The Golfer" close behind. It just aged well, and there so many qoutes still in peoples mind, it is hard to not see why it is probably a favorite for many more out there. This would be among the last movies of the great actor Tor Isedal who would pass 2 years later, and the last movie for the well know tv personality Stellan Sundahl.I find the big strenght to be in part of all actors involved turning in a stellar performance, matching the vibe of the movie greatly.The first was in a sunny Hotel charter resort, the second a cold skiresort, and this third is during the Swedish Midsummer celibrations, and actually by an accident, spent in the upperclass world.The contrasts works well with the simple workingman Helmer and the rich folks, with hos friend Ole as a perfect bridge between there worlds. We are treated to a tiny bit more into Stig-Helmers regular life, with now his son Kalle.I won't spoil anything else, if you like the first two movies, you will like this third one as well, is as easy as that.If your looking there in a total six movies about Stig-Helmer, and it is old Swedish cultural awkwardness at it's peak.

Second best of 4

Once again Stig-Helmer and his friend Ole takes a trip together. However, this time its not completely intentional.They both find themselves celebrating mid-summer with the upper class boating people. Of course Stig-Helmer finds love again and so does Ole.As usual the movie contains much criticism against rich people but also against all the wannabe sailors out in Stockholms archipelago.The movie also show beautiful views of the archipelago summer which is hard to resist.Maybe it isn´t the best movie ever done but it´s fun for the moment!
