A little gem of a movie.

A superb little movie that Hollywood seems to have forgotten how to make.Simply put, it's about an agrophobic young woman who meets the plumber that comes to fix her toilet.The best thing about the movie is the delicate dance that plays out between the two leads and the director. The characters seem very normal, even though they have differing characteristics. Conversation flows and we learn everything about our characters very organically.It's quite short (about an hour and twenty minutes) and the ending fits the feel of the movie perfectly.Why don't they make romantic movies anymore? This made me pine for yesteryear.

Has romance and comedy, but not a romantic comedy

This is not your run-of-the-mill romantic comedy. It is obviously a low budget film, but it lacks nothing a higher budget film might have. It is actually a plus that the movie was frugal.The characters were played well and the chemistry worked. The movie seemed to go quickly although the story was a slower pace. I enjoyed watching it, but was disappointed when the movie seemed to end prematurely.If you want lots of laughs and occasional silliness, check out a Paul Rudd movie or something. This movie is serious and is based solely in dialog.

Unheard-of but riveting

This is clearly a low-budget/no-budget film, but it was made by a few people who know exactly what they are doing. The director has acquired a reputation as a difficult man; OK, so was Steve Jobs. The actress who plays the main character perfectly has gone on to become a good, dependable character actor. She is able and willing, in this film, to look dowdy, unattractive, weird, until she decides not to, and becomes genuinely attractive. The story is described in other reviews here; suffice it to say that it is never unbelievable, both central characters are spot-on, the acting is good, and the ending sums it all up. For a low-budget film, it works for me.
