For completists only

A group of French conscripts try to relieve the boredom of being posted somewhere in West Germany in the 1970s.That's about the whole plot of the film and as far as it goes. One could say that in that sense it's realistic because no doubt such an existence was repetitive.The film is 90 minutes of slapstick and little else.It is a pity as they took the trouble of actually filming this in Germany and employing German actors for all the local parts.Much more could have been made of this but as it is you get to see a few shots of what small-town West Germany looked like in the 1970s but sadly nowhere near enough.This film is really only worth watching by those who want to cop it in order to complete their collection, but their collection of what exactly I am not sure.
