This is what happens when you bring a video camera to the local Civil War Reenactment Society...

Granted, when I stumbled upon this 2023 movie titled "Storm Over Georgia", I wasn't exactly harboring the biggest of expectations, as the movie's cover just wasn't all that interesting and sort of permeated of amateur hour. But since it was a movie that I had neither heard about or watched, of course I opted to check out and see what writer and director Christopher Forbes brought to the table......Which was next to nothing, truth be told. Sure, there was a semblance of a storyline here, and an okay one at that. But the entire movie was just ruined by several things that went bad. First of all, the acting performances, followed by the fact that everyone were angling their firearms up at a degree where they wouldn't hit anyone, and not to forget that the entire first battle scene was filmed in slow motion and without anyone getting hit, injured or killed. Yup, this was Civil War Reenactment class, nothing more, nothing less.I managed to endure a mind-boggling 31 minutes of pure torture before tossing the towel in the ring here. Talk about a horrible attempt at making a Civil War movie.Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress, well more like Civil War Reenactment enthusiast more like it. The acting performances were so insanely wooden that is was unnatural. It was as if they were being force-fed their lines by a teleprompt and did a horrendous job at delivering the dialogue.The music in the movie was so poorly chosen, as it felt fully and wholly out of place. It was way too modern music to accompany a Civil War movie.The one thing that the movie had working for it was the uniforms and props. It looked nice, but it was a tad to clean and shiny for my liking, and thus was lacking the feel of the soldiers having seen combat and action. But of course, why would the Civil War Reenactors dirty up their uniforms and props, which probably costed them an arm and a leg.Should you happen to like Civil War based movies, then stay well clear of this one.No wonder that "Storm Over Georgia" has landed a staggering 2.7 rating here on IMDb, as of this very moment while I am writing this review. Trust me, the movie is that bad.My rating of writer and director Christopher Forbes's 2023 movie "Storm Over Georgia" lands on a generous two out of ten stars. And it is the uniforms and props that snags the movie up from a mere one out of ten stars rating.

Where to begin? The acting is absolutely wooden - these actors know how to read, not act. I've never seen any movie distributed like this. Cinematography? What cinematography!? This movie appears to have been shot on an iPhone and then edited using the most basic of movie suites. I mean kudos to the company, whoever they are, trying to make new Westerns but this is absolutely atrocious. The sound quality is dirt poor - you either can't hear the actors talking or they're blowing out your TV Speakers.I have seen better movies made by high school students for senior projects - this is on that level.Do yourself a favor - skip this.
