Excellent Thriller

Great acting, writing, direction, costume, sets, sound design, music.A touching and tragic story.Oddly, at the Fantasia Film Festival about 20% of the audience was laughing and cackling like hyenas throughout the screening and were drowning out some important dialog and beats. To be sitting in an audience with so many psychopaths was kind of frightening. But then I suppose that it was apt given the plot of the film. The director was present and I felt bad for her about the bizarre audience reaction.I certainly wish I had seen it with a less disturbing/disturbed audience. It was truly a very good film from start to finish.I am glad I saw it and I was deeply impressed by every aspect of the production. It was a real gem and along with several other recent Canadian independent films it gives me great optimism about contemporary filmmaking.

Must see

This film portrays a poignant perspective on love, relationships, and heartache that manages to be hilarious, sweet and totally disturbing all at once. While the perspective is modern, there are timeless themes to enjoy and discuss. You will laugh, grimace and cry. A great watch for all ages, all genders. I cannot recommend highly enough and can't wait to see what this new top talent has in store for us next.

The sweeter they ...

... sound? No pun intended - and I am not telling if I am talking about the main male or female character. Everyone has a voice in this ... although some are a bit drown out of course. Or restrained ... but more on this when you watch the movie.Being a fan and convincing yourself you only have the best interest of others in your mind ... well I'd say that must be bad parenting at work ... but there is a lot more into play here. Our main character is quite flawed ... so there is something to sing (and dance) about ... what would you do? Morally easy to answer, right?
