a surefire candidate for Hallmark's Best in Show.

Cutesy, but not unbearably so, Dog Lovers Guide To Dating has two affable, exceptionally well-groomed leads, and their inevitably glutinous will-they-won't-they shtick is of a far higher pedigree than expected. This cosily fluffy tail of workaholic, love-shy dog trainer Alex (Rebecca Dalton) and slick, big-hearted ad exec Simon's (Corey Sevier) puppy love is certainly no dog's dinner, perhaps, being a surefire candidate for Best in Show. For reasons I have never cared to examine too closely, I have long had a singular penchant for wallowing unthinkingly in gloopy Hallmark pap, my tolerance for syrupy sentimentality remains disturbingly high. Geared with a ruthless efficiency to appease canine-loving romantics, even as more of a cat person, I wasn't wholly immune to the adorable doggies warmly fuzzy charms!

Does she own a dress?

I feel very shallow talking about this, but it becomes glaringly obvious as you watch this movie. Rebecca Dalton does this entire movie in yoga pants. I don't know why that bothers me so much, but it does. It's almost like she wasn't even trying. As I rewatch other Hallmark movies I am seeing a lot of yoga pants, but it wasn't as glaring as in this movie. Call me shallow.She does wear a dress toward the end of the movie-once and not for long.This movie's plot is very thin-just putting dogs in a movie is not enough. I enjoyed Rebecca Dalton in this movie - I hope she does more movies. She brings this movie from a 5 to a 6. I just hope it is a better movie than this one. I want to like her - I just need Hallmark to help here.

They are trying too hard

I like almost all decent Hallmark movies and I am almost always grading on the "Hallmark curve" not expecting perfection but a nice watch. But, I do expect the movie to not insult the audience with childish slapstick and stupid lines. I only watched half because I just couldn't take it anymore so take that confession for what it's worth. It is exceedingly rare for me not to finish a Hallmark flick.As usual I blame the writing and not the actors who are just doing their job with that they are given. The leads were fine, I have no issues with their performances, but by trying to be way too cute, obvious and bland the writers ruined the story.
