Aside the good intentions, whoever drew up the screenplay chastised too much the gently giant, in fact unforgiven!!

What to expect a kindly giant Richard Kiel and the swindler Jack Elam and his moronic sons William Sanderson and George Buck Flower in family picture, well a great offering indeed, surround by naughty children in a small village at foot of thunder mountain whereby lives a menacing lonesome giant, this story is narrated by a mature woman Amy (Cloris Leachman) remembering her childhood days when she had six years old (Noley Thornton) and her two brothers meeting the giant for first time and inviting him the getting close with the villagers at small circus passing by in late 19th century.Unfortunately the giant wasn't welcome at first appearance, to worsen some gold nuggets found at giant's cabin triggers the greedy of Jack Elam's family members that later the gang on stealing the gold of the absence giant, suddenly they were taken aback by the children that were beaten the older and kidnaping the younger kid and furtively fled there unnoticed, all these bad occurrences were misinterpreted as Giant's guilty, so a Village's posse headed to thunder mountain to kill the blameless one, firstly they burning his humble shack and hereinafter a relentless chase for the unlucky giant at nearby area, actually plain veil.Aside the good intentions, whoever drew up the screenplay chastised too much the gently giant, in fact those villagers are really bad people as the often villain John Quade, when they get together with Jack Elam's gang it became worst than never, anyway they don't deserve a kindly friendship of Richard Kiel, just the small ones, in time it was release in VHS format in Brazil.Thanks for reading.Resume:First watch: 2009 / How many: 2 / Source: DVD-R-Youtube / Rating: 6.5.

Excellent family movie

We rented this movie and thought it was wonderful. It had suspense, drama, comedy, and had my whole family glued to the screen for all of its 80 or so minutes. Richard Kiel is outstanding as the giant, and the supporting actors and actresses are great in their roles. I give it an A+.
