A beautiful surprise.

The art style is distinctive and works well for the story, which carries the tone of a fable.The narrative presents an interesting moral and raises several questions, while also being clearly situated within its historical period.The short film relies on narration to follow the events and uses the girl's pearl tears as a metaphor for different themes.

Spooky beauty

Beautiful, if slightly spooky, tale of love and greed from the makers of "Madame Tutli-Putli." Production design and music are top notch. I loved the narration, making the story a tad bit less enigmatic than some of their previous works.It's a multiple award-winning film, here in Canada it will soon be available for streaming on nfb.ca and the NFB app.
