"El candidato honesto" is a film that aims to be a social criticism of Mexican politicians, in addition to including parodies of them, however it fails to achieve its goal and ends up poorly handled. The script is unreal and it is not possible to connect with any character, the comic criticisms of the Mexican governments from 2000 to 2018 are incipient, while regarding the current government the script is careful and avoids comic criticisms with obvious fear. The performances are poor, Adrián Uribe fails to be funny or dramatic, only the always wonderful Tiaré Scanda provides a fun performance. The director's work seems non-existent, the cinematography is bad and the editing is stupid. "El candidato honesto" is a bad movie with a couple of slightly interesting scenes and whose only value is having Tiaré Scanda in the cast.
