Review for The House in Between

This was a documentary that I found when searching for the more popular horror/docs, according to Letterboxd. Seeing that it was streaming on Tubi made it easy for me to watch while working. I like to check out things like late in the day.Now what we're getting here is learning the history of this house and how its owner doesn't sleep there anymore. What we'll learn is different things that she's experienced. It then gives us a history of this Mississippi town, which involves it burning down in the past.Something I didn't realize until glancing at reviews is that Steve Gonsalves is part of the Ghost Hunters team. I've never watched any of those shows, outside of History Channels A Haunting. What I like here is the professional approach. They film a few different things and then try to figure out what is happening. This includes a baseball rolling downstairs and strange lights.This does go about trying to explain what is happening. They send the footage off to a scientist. He gives logical explanations, but with what he's given, it remains relatively unexplained. It also questions are their ghosts? There are similarities to things that could lead to aliens. I also like that they point out there are huge deposits of Limestone underneath, which is a good conduit for spirits from what these states.The more grounded approach does make this less scary. There were things here and there that perked my interest. This is a bit slower than a documentary for those that want something livelier. It isn't bad. I am intrigued to see the second part now, especially to see if more happened.Overall, this offers a measured and analytical look at unexplained phenomena within a haunted residence. While it might not deliver intense scares, its professional methodology, historical context, and exploration of various scientific and paranormal theories make it an engaging watch for those interested in a more grounded approach to the supernatural. The documentary successfully builds anticipation for its second installment, leaving viewers curious about further developments.My Rating: 6 out of 10.

Ehhh/OK

I'm not big on paranormal stuff. Its covid time and I had nothing to watch so I gave it a shot. It's the 1st paranormal thing I fully watched ever. I was pretty into it weather real or fake, so I gave it 3 stars. Seemed like it was legit, if it was fake acting was good, cams and trickery were good as well. But thats only if you disbelieve. All and all legit decent watch, if enough friends do watch, you will all have sides to debate on too.
