Goofy, cheesy, but not without charm

Yes, it's a micro budget endeavor with terrible acting. But you know what? So was Clerks. And The Last Slay Ride is the Clerks of Christmas horror comedies.When a ragtag film team gets cheated out of money by the distributor of their magnum opus Slash Camp, they confront the distributors and find they're all vampires, literally. Plenty of jokes and commentary about classic horror tropes and goths ensue, delivered with deadpan slacker vibes typically found in Kevin Smith movies.None of it makes any sense and the script just kind of meanders to a finish. And the connection to Christmas is tenuous at best, mainly being an excuse to have vampires run around dressed as elves. But it did make me laugh a few times, particularly with the performances by Eileen Dietz as the vampire grandma and Sanae Loutsis as a smart ass production assistant. Overall, good enough to keep me amused and engaged throughout the movie's running time.
