Plot summary

Newlyweds Parker and Madeline move into their dream home. As they settle in, they discover a box of old love letters written to the original owner. And as the couple digs into the increasingly obsessive correspondence, a mysterious woman arrives with a horrifying secret that threatens their lives.

Comedy --- A dorks wet dream

Watching this right now as I'm doing some work. Honestly, its a comedy. We got a SUPER AVERGE or below (in all aspects, height, looks, income) guy who somehow has a hot wife, hot neighbor and a hot stalker. They all want into his pants. Seriously... its so fun to watch. Any attempts at jump scares illicit laughter, can't get over the basic question "BUT WHY??? !!! Why do they want him!!!". I keep waiting the movie to cut into him waking up to his alarm clock. In reality he lives in the basement, works from home, wears his grandmas sweater and jerks off to gross porn. *sigh. That honestly, would have been the amazing horror ending that would make this movie worth while.

A mixed bag of ideas and execution, some good some terrible.

The basic story of the movie is really good, couple move into haunted house.....he has had a stalker.....overbearing neighbour.......troubled writer, etc, etc.John Magaro is excellent as the writer, the interplay between the dreams and real life is good enough and the direction leans heavily on Hitchcock, Giallo and, at times, Kubrick for inspiration.However the issues come with the execution. The wife of our 'protagonist' is terrible. Absolutely no chemistry with her husband (she may get on well with the furniture as she is that wooden). Several scenes seem to have been created without consideration to the rest of the movie. The wife is angry one minute and cheerful the next, the angry neighbour is angry, errrr.......because? And the pacing is so off it feels like a waltz.....slow, slow, quick quick slow.

Can't get on with this film

Iv really tried to get into this award winning film yet my word it's drawn out cliche after cliche , the main protagonist seems to have women literally dying to be with him & he's not that appealing The sexism is moronic, a gorgeous neighbour throwing herself at the men in the house .He has a Beautiful intelligent wife on top of it all is it meant to be that he is this irresistible man of the year because I can't see it is it also trying to say is it is his imagination beyond reality it's just really dull I've tried it again and this is the second trying viewing and sorry I hate to give up on films but not for me.
