Awful, it was directed, terribly overacting

The Night My Dad Saved Christmas 2 is a frustrating example of a foreign holiday film that misses the mark entirely. While the subtitles are serviceable and allow you to follow the story, the screenplay is painfully childish, feeling like something written for a kindergarten Nickelodeon audience. The dialogue is corny, the jokes fall flat, and the humor never lands, making it difficult to stay engaged. Scenes that should feel charming or festive instead feel forced and awkward. The acting suffers heavily from poor direction. The young boy has potential, but his performance is exaggerated to the point of distraction, and the director fails to guide him properly. Similarly, the father's role is mishandled, with contrived comedic beats-like the fat coworkers mocking him at work-that don't translate as funny and instead feel silly and misplaced. There's no nuance or subtlety, and the performances often come across as overacted.Plot-wise, the story is thin and repetitive. The film relies on absurd sequences, like the random dance with Santa and the elves, which feels nonsensical rather than entertaining. The narrative lacks stakes or meaningful character development, leaving the audience disconnected from the events on screen.Visually, the film is bland. The set design and costumes are overly simplistic, and there's little effort to create a festive atmosphere beyond basic Christmas tropes. Combined with the weak direction, these choices make the film feel cheap and uninspired.Even the humor, which could have been a saving grace, is mishandled. Attempts at physical comedy, banter, or playful interactions between characters fall flat because they're poorly staged and lack timing or cleverness. The film repeatedly tries to be whimsical but ends up feeling chaotic and juvenile.Overall, The Night My Dad Saved Christmas 2 is a poorly executed holiday movie. While the concept could have been fun, weak writing, overacted performances, and misguided direction leave it unwatchable. Foreign film fans seeking a charming Christmas story should look elsewhere, such as Skyforce, rather than wasting time on this misfire.

In context it's ok...

It's a Spaniard Christmas movie... So you need to forgive the fact that is has subtitles, and the jokes are NOT American jokes. REMEMBER, this is not an American movie. That said, there's brown elves with afros and female elves with septum piercings. The 13-ish years old love interest has a septum piercing of such size that that makes her look like she has a donut dangling from her nose... Also, makes her look like a boy.The fake evil Santa is a drunk. The evil bad lady is depicted as the worst type of capitalist in the world who has hijab-wearing employees (it's a CHRISTMAS movie).I'm maybe 41 minutes into this movie while typing this review (maybe 50 minutes left) and I'm basically done with it...
