Nay...

Sure, as I had never heard about this movie, nor knowing what I was in for, I still opted to check out "The Offing", solely because it was a movie that I hadn't already seen. I had zero expectations to writers and directors Koko Crozier and Lily Lunder as I sat down to watch the movie. So I suppose they had every opportunity to entertain and impress me.They failed to do that, on both accounts. Writers Koko Crozier and Lily Lunder put together a script and storyline that wasn't all that interesting. The narrative was a bit sluggishly paced for my liking. And there simply wasn't enough of anything overly interesting happening to keep me properly entertained.Something that worked in favor of the movie was the fact that I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list. And while the storyline was a swing and a miss for my liking, the acting performances in the movie were actually still good.Hardly a movie that I would recommend anyone to spend 100 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.My rating of writers and directors Koko Crozier and Lily Lunder's 2025 movie "The Offing" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

Pleasant Surprise

Thought this was going to be the Helena Bonham Carter movie but once I stopped wondering when she was going to make an appearance, I really started to enjoy this film. It's intimate and at times confronting, with an important message around women's autonomy. This is a painfully relevant movie that more people would benefit from seeing.

Stunning debut!

Such a beautiful film - stunning cinematography and Australian landscapes with a really interesting exploration of trauma, fate and friendship. It's so rare to see young women represented in such an authentic way and I can't believe the directors were only 18 when they made this film. The start was a little bit slow but it really picked up about 15 minutes in so i really recommend you stick at it!! The ending was so good and so many twists i didnt see coming!
