Those Poor Kids

So Very Tragic

Exceptional true crime documentary, almost completely filmed on police body cams. You see everything unfold as it happened, without voiceover narration. The film is very well edited and impactful. So many things struck me while watching the film:I couldn't understand why this woman chose to live in a neighborhood where children played outdoors and the majority of the residents were African American. After all, she made it clear she was biased against black people and couldn't tolerate lively children. Florida has many 55 and over rental properties. Why wouldn't she have moved to one of those?I thought it was fantastic that a whole neighborhood of children were out playing together instead of being inside on their phones and computers. This was like the old days when my generation of baby boomers would play all day with their neighborhood friends-this is wholesome and healthy. The kids in the film were good, well behaved, fair minded, and well cared for.The police were exceptional in serving the community, showing respect to the children and their parents, and maintaining their professionalism no matter how often they responded to the repeated 911 nuisance calls. When the shooting occurred, it was extremely heartbreaking to watch the children and family react in real time. It tore me up. What a needless crime.I was glad that the film took us through the arrest to the verdict. I thought that the police methodology when questioning Susan (the perpetrator) was very impressive. Throughout the film, but especially during the last scenes, it was obvious that Susan was mentally disturbed and morally depraved. Her true colors were all captured on police cameras.
