Plot summary

Featuring a restless little bunny who dreams of leaving home, the film is an exploration of love and childhood. Woven throughout the story are songs that accompany the bunny on his imaginary, magical adventures into the world and back home to the comfort of his mother's love.

Bring back the Runaway Bunny, HBO!

This was such an instant classic, and even a few months after HBO taking it off the site my child asks about it nearly every day. We just watch the trailer (and read the book), but it was such a special part of her babyhood. I'm really hoping that the production house who made it is able to have it picked up by another provider, it was such an amazing little movie.From the animation to the music-both the original score and the main songs, this entire movie was truly a piece of art. I have so much respect for the animators, Tracee Ellis Ross's narration (cementing her position as truly the coolest person in Hollywood), and the sweet little song during the credits. HBO Max, please bring back the Runaway Bunny! Or at least let me buy a copy of it somewhere!

Lovely adaptation with modern music

I'm shocked by the low rating of this sweet adaptation of The Runaway Bunny. Both my toddler daughter and I love watching it. The narrator's voice is soft and soothing. Each scenario of the bunny running away is accompanied by a popular song that matches the feeling of the scene and the book. The animation follows the style of the book, with a very hand drawn look. It's the opposite of most kids shows today that are unnecessarily bright, loud, and flashing. I think my only criticism is that although this is an HBOmax original, it's no longer available on the site. Such a disappointment to create something that families can watch and then stop showing it. There's no other way to watch it either since it is an original.
