Bautista and Momoa make this quite a fun ride.

Two half-brothers James (David Bautista) and Jonny (Jason Momoa) who have been estranged for a few years, suddenly find themselves together when their father dies, neither believing that it was not an accident, realizing they need to work together to solve it.I admire the way the way doesn't overdo it with humor, it balances itself out where it doesn't make real silly. It's not only an action movie, but it also has a heart to it has well. David Bautista and Jason Momoa really have that brotherly chemistry that makes their scenes together work. Action scenes are awesome, so are the fight scenes. And costars like Stephen Root and Justin Batalon are also good.

Could have been better

THE WRECKING CREW is an easygoing action comedy, set in Hawaii and starring Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa as a pair of siblings who have to investigate the death of their father. Generally it's a likeable enough film, although it's happy to lean towards cliche far too much for it to be anything but a mildly diverting single watch. One of the biggest problems with this is the script, which is often cheesy, the forced humour on the part of the Momoa character frequently unfunny and awkward. Bautista is better. The plot is nothing special, and there are some slow spots given the lengthy running time, but the action scenes are generally well handled. The ending is generic but fun and I enjoyed the OLDBOY tribute, although I have no idea why the main bad guy was played like Russell Brand as he came off as intensely annoying. The bad CGI helicopter also spoils the mood a little, but I liked the guy with alopecia.

Familiar, Fun, and Comfortably Entertaining

"The Wrecking Crew" is an action-comedy that plays entirely within familiar territory, relying on well-known tropes and a very predictable story structure, but that doesn't stop it from being an enjoyable ride. The film works because it understands its own formula. The performances are solid and committed, helping elevate material that could have easily felt lazy. The chemistry between the cast keeps things lively, and the comedy lands more often than not, at least in my case. It's light, punchy, and never takes itself too seriously.Action is another clear strength. The set pieces are well staged, energetic, and easy to follow, striking a good balance between spectacle and humor. The pacing stays brisk, which helps gloss over the lack of originality in the script. That said, the movie is undeniably limited by its format. With such a safe and cliché-heavy approach, it never reaches beyond being "good enough." A slightly more serious or grounded tone might have given the story more impact, but even as it is, the film remains consistently entertaining."The Wrecking Crew" doesn't aim high, but it delivers what it promises. It's fun, competently made, and easy to watch.
