Plot summary

Cinderella, a resourceful and independent young girl, is a servant in her stepmother's house and confides in her closest friend the owl. When she comes across three magical acorns, she's granted a single wish for each one of them.

Nice scenery, simple but pleasant and connected plot. A nice movie.

I'm surprised how some "critics" who are not very objective dare to rate this film with a 1 or a 2. A film is rated by its everything, including acting, photography, set design, music, plot, script, genre and of course if we like it or not. Everything adds up, and he is not only absurdly punished for some subjective aspect. This film, although it does not deserve a 10, has a beautiful photography, a valuable mise-en-scène and a light but connected plot. The special effects are also well set and just right for the type of film. It is also enjoyable and entertaining for the whole family and is a different version of the Cinderella story. I give it a 7.

Something Like Ash Lad, Pretty Good?

I can't complain about this movie, because I think this was very good. Especially made for kids, easy to understand and I think this is a good Norwegian adaption of Cinderella. It had great elements of picture, music and scenography in this movie. They focused a lot on the costumes, that make sense, because this is a Cinderella movie, so the dress and all of that has to be well done. And it was well done. The Bad Women that raised Cinderella was well acted, that women really looked evil with bad intentions. The prince was good, too, I think he did a good job at playing his role. Cinderella her self looked like a typical Norwegian Princess women, so I think the cast picked the right person. Besides the acting, the dialogues and the story was good build up, and the director did a good job. This is a movie especially made for kids. Most kids will like it, I think mostly girls, because princess and that genre is popular among girls. For older people, this is going to be a pretty basic movie, but if you want to watch a movie with your whole family, this can be a good movie, surprisingly good for Norwegian production.
