Intro for AI dummies

So this program seems to be done by a bunch of naïfs who really didn't think things through before they started to do their research or development. They all seem to have forgotten the classic adage och "Garbage In, Garbage Out", i.e. If you give a person with no moral qualms a task to find all possible ways to kill, then that person will find all possible ways to kill, independent of what you may, according to your morals or ethics, think is fair play or reasonable.Clearly 80% of the people interviewed just thought that AI was a cool new subject but did not in any way think through what it can be applied to.The program is really for a bunch of "dummies", and this includes a majority of the people interviewed, who never knew what new technology can be used for.In the end, what is still surprising to me is why none of these seem to have even heard about Asimov's 3 laws of robotics. They are simple, they are practical and they are adhering to most belief systems morals and ethics.Would I recommend this program to anyone? Not really, unless they are totally newbs in the area and needs a lesson in how not to ignore that in whatever you may take on, make sure you do a proper threat assessment before to eliminate or at least be prepared for any risks that may come up if you invent something new.

A decent popular science film

The film explores the use of AI in military technology, both technically and socially.It's a pretty good film. It doesn't try to be overly accessible, so it doesn't make you feel awkward. But it also doesn't use overly hermetic language to avoid alienating viewers.It treats some things too superficially. For example, it explains that the swarm's behavior is controlled by a few very simple commands, but unfortunately, it doesn't specify what those commands are. Swarm behavior was explained by naturalists and computer scientists in the 1980s, but if a film popularizing science refers to swarms, it would be helpful to explain-that's why such films are made.

Another naïve documentary

I love the part where Emilia says she's really optimistic about the future because of the Biological Weapon Convention. Nice video of President Richard Nixon and Secretary of State Rogers walking into a meeting. How the USA and the communist (USSR) signed a treaty to do away with biological weapons and research. Ha!!! Read the book SPIES that just came out by Calder Walton. Based on the files smuggled out of the USSR the communist NEVER stopped working on biological weapons. We were suckers to believe that they would. Do not think for one second that the bad guys will abide by any LAWS.Another thing. Why do I have to use so many different words to be able to post a comment.
