Indie plant-based doc made with love, but rough around the edges

While "Unsupersize Me" won't win any awards for production values, this indie film is a must-see for anyone suffering from obesity or lifestyle related diseases like high cholesterol, blood pressure, atherosclerosis, cancer, etc. Asse shows that diet and moderate exercise can result in stunning results in a short time. While I enjoyed the film for what it is, it would have massively benefited from a tighter edit. This is a homegrown style of documentary that once would have sold in the DVD section of health-food stores. These days, docs of this variety just don't quite cut it, but the message stands the test of time at least. While "Unsupersie Me" was just barely tolerable production-wise, I have a feeling that the upcoming follow-up "Unsupersize Us" will be lightyears better, just based on the trailers. Regardless, put your pickiness aside and give this a watch to see just how profoundly a few simple lifestyle changes can improve your health over the course of a year.

Why The Hate???

Why the hate? Sure this is a humble and modest film yet it tells a great story that many can benefit from! Tracy is a morbidly obese woman in her late 20's and through hard work and dedication she is able to shed over 200 pounds by going whole foods and working out daily. This is a message that is applicable to many and perhaps by watching this film they will be inspired to take action. Go forth brothers and sister. Great things can be yours!

Worth watching

Has great content that's worth watching even though it's probably one of the worst produced movies you'll ever see on a streaming service. Basically it's just a home movie shot by an phone but it's a fun story and shows what a huge impact a whole foods plant based diet and exercise can have on health.I would say watch all the other documentaries first like Forks over Knives, Game Changers, Eating you Alive, What the Health, etc. This doesn't have a lot of info about the science just a little sprinkled in here and there with Barnard and Campbell interviewed quickly. It's probably better to watch as reinforcement or support for people looking to lose weight or just improve their health of what is possible.
