Decent, but needed improvement

Decent script and concept idea. Could have done some better with the dramatic scenes, action and certain actors were good and sime could have beem better. The cgi was decent and enjoyable, but no actor/cgi interaction gives it less weight to believing the fights. Sets were ok but too well lit to give it weight. The fights and choreography was to simple and should have been more action.

In all honesty, I had zero expectations to this movie, as I watched it here in 2025. Sure, I had never heard about the movie, but I still opted to watch it, solely because it was a movie that I hadn't already seen. And seeing that the movie had Doug Bradley on the cast list certainly served to lure me in.The storyline in the movie, as written by Joshua Pruett, was pretty straight forward, but hardly anything outstanding really. The acting performances in the movie were fair, but you will not find yourself in for anything memorable here. The only familiar face on the cast list, for me at least, were actors Doug Bradley and Dylan Vox.The effects in the movie were pretty bad. Sure, it wasn't among the worst of effects that I've seen in movies, but this was some archetypical stuff from The Asylum. However, the costumes and props in the movie were actually fair. But then there was the witch, who looked like a keyboard player from an amateurish black metal band from the 1990s.The fight scenes in "Witch Hunter" were particularly horrible, as it was essentially just the performers thrusting their weapons beyond the limit of the camera shot, and that was it. Oh, wait, I forgot to mention they added terribly fake blood splatter. But you don't get to see them actually fight whatever opponent they face.Would I recommend "Witch Hunter" to fans of the fantasy adventure genre? Well, hardly so, at least I wouldn't encourage you to go out of your way to get to watch it. But if you are a diehard fantasy adventure fan, then you might get a bigger kick out of this movie than I did.My rating of director Marc Gottlieb's 2024 movie "Witch Hunter" lands on a very generous three out of ten stars.

Tried to like it.

I like the genre a lot but it is beyond my comprehension that bad movies like that can still be made today. The dialogues are absolutely terrible and so cliché it feels like a 10 years old nerd kid wrote them. The typical team recruitment was done like a Costco shopping spree in one tiny tavern. It takes more time for me to do a weekly grocery than that guy to assemble a full team with their leader. That's how laughable the movie structure is because that is usually an easy part that works all the time but this one seems botched. The story and the costumes are great. Even the effects are not bad at all. I can't even complain about the acting because the writing is so bad it must have been very hard for them to stay professional with such poor script.
