Hollywood must hate teenagers

Let's see... 1. We have seen a preteen release dinosaurs onto Earth, killing millions of people(Jurassic World. Actually, that has happened in almost every Jurassic movie except the first two.2. We have seen a spoiled brat directly cause almost every death on an expedition because her father could not say 'no'(Army of the Dead). This also includes every group of people in the middle of nowhere, and instead of leaving, one teen says, 'I gotta know what is going on'.3. And here we have a teen who has caused multiple deaths, because she walks away from the group, repeatedly, gets in trouble, and someone dies rescuing her. Instead of writing a good story, we have the teen do something stupid to create the drama.Seriously, I really, really wanted her to die a horrible death, but instead, the movie made her the main character. Please skip.

It's a slow burn that never really catches fire

I see a lot of people commenting that Milla needs to get a better agent but then so does Luke Evans. The guy is a brilliant actor and his acting is absolutely on par yet again. What's missing here is a decent plot, intriguing, dialogue, and halfway decent special effects. I signed up to watch a dystopian sci-fi, but instead got a muted copy of "The Road"... which I found unutterably dull. To top it all off, just when you think it's going get interesting, the credits roll.

Unimaginative and Dull

This is at best a low-grade B movie. I gave it four stars only because I really like Milla Jovovich ever since I saw her in "The Fifth Element".But, wow, as someone else has said here, she really needs a better agent. The Good (?): I have a soft spot for family dramas set within a dystopia or a world-ending event. Example: "Greenland" and "The Last of Us".The Bad: There are too many. Script is awful. Directing is sub-par. Dialogues - too much and too expositional. And the monsters aren't at all scary and very derivatively generic. This is one monster movie where more action was needed (and not mostly in the dark).
