Lifetime abusive man

Ella (Melissa Joan Hart), her daughter Veronica Jo Bailey (Olivia Scriven), and her granddaughter Mary Bailey (Presley Allard) are in the house when Veronica's ex Willard Simms (Connor McMahon) barges in. Willard is shot and Veronica claims to be the one who did it. The police finds Veronica and Mary had handled the gun.This could be a good mystery movie. I don't know anything about the real life story. The opening really intrigued me. It seems set up to follow the cops in their investigation. Instead, the film goes backwards into flashbacks and jumps right into the courtroom. It's the basic abused woman story and it's not that compelling. I would prefer following the cops and then the courtroom drama.

Well done.

I don't often watch Lifetime movies but this movie seem interesting being that it was based on a true story. I thought that it was written very well and I also liked the way that the writer gave the three different character perspectives. That aspect of it drew the viewer in and also gave a suspenseful aspect in the fact that you didn't know who's version of the story was the truth. It was a very different roll for Melissa Joan Hart in that she played a grandmother. Her character was stoic but compassionate. The other actors were well cast and did a wonderful job in bringing the story to life. I do recommend this movie.
