Cough, cough, cough.....

Another actor/ producer/ writer/director, who should have NOT cast himself as the lead. He just isn't believable in the role of JJ. Cough, cough...From the time he first appears on the screen, he just didn't look comfortable in the role. Cough, cough, cough...And what's with the smoking in every single scene he's in? Oral fixation much? Did he get funding from a tobacco company? I don't mind bad movies, but aside from the usual laughable acting, wardrobe, dialogue, (which I didn't mind all that much) there were THREE scenes that he wasn't puffing on a smoke. There may have been a fourth, but I couldn't make it through the final ten minutes.I caught cancer watching this.

Shockingly bad

I've read more than one review of films so bad the reviewers lamented not being able to rate below zero. Having watched this I now know how they feel.Even if this had been promoted as a satirical comedy it would still be a failure. Conceptually it's not that bad, but that's where anything positive ends. An absurd script, laughable stunt work and quite honestly the worst acting I've seen in a very long time. The only exception is Denise Milfort, who does an admirable job with ridiculous lines and scenes.

Watchable, but...

I happened to pick up this movie solely because of the movie's title. And it was, in fact, a movie that I had never even heard about prior to sitting down to watch it. So in a sense, I suppose, then writer and director Shane Woodson had every opportunity to entertain and impress me.But alas, "7 Days to Hell" is a movie that is written by, directed by, and starring the one and the same person - yup, that being Shane Woodson. And I loathe movies that have one person doing all these things, as they usually tend to be questionable affairs. And had I known that it was one such movie prior to looking it up on IMDb, I would actually not have given the movie the time of day.Well, the narrative in the movie was actually not bad, and the movie proved to be a watchable and adequately entertaining movie for the cheese that it was. While I haven't seen the 2022 anthology movie "8 Days to Hell", so I don't know if I was missing out on anything in the narrative here in this 2025 movie. But having sat through this 2025 movie, I am not exactly spurred with the urge to go out and track down the 2022 anthology.Of the entire cast ensemble in the movie, I was only familiar with Mike Ferguson and Eric Roberts - with the latter showing up only for the briefest of moments in a flashback to the 2022 movie "8 Days to Hell". The acting performances in the movie were actually fair.My rating of writer and director Shane Woodson's 2025 movie "7 Days to Hell" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
