Great film difficult choices

Well plotted, well paced serious film with some lighter notes. Strong contrast between gritty and idyllic locations where bad things happen. Be careful what you wish for "Do you want the blood?". Brutalise or be nonced? Be owned or spend your life in hiding? Shower or glow? Who to trust? Be careful what choices you make, it can determine the rest of your life, however short.

Proper, classic British gangster movie

The film was superb, a great balance of gruesome grittiness and a splattering of comedy. We were hooked by the story immediately and it ended with such a smart and satisfying finale. The characters are raw and relatable, it's really superbly shot - a triumph of British independent filmmaking. Our gangster genre has been a bit dry of late... but this changes that in a truly tense and realistic fashion.I really hope there's a sequel in the works. Maybe some flashback scenes for those characters who didn't make it...

Smart new addition to a classic genre

Gangster films are a great British tradition and this a fresh new take that should be good news for fans. It's not just the usual suspects - there are some great performances from less familiar faces, which is very welcome. Beautifully shot and with a razor sharp edit that keeps the action, and the humour, flowing, this is a flying start for Zak Fenning. One to watch out for.
