A very good first film

A strong debut for Antoine Chevrollier. There are few sympathetic characters in this tough film, but one quickly develops empathy for this truly tear-jerking story. Sayyid El Alami deserves the acting awards he has received. The very few weaker elements of the script are easily forgiven. It will be interesting to follow the careers of the director and the lead actor.

Extraordinary Gifted Achingly Sad Just Beautiful

While bigger budget homophobia forbidden gay love themed movies gather massive attention on socials, stories of the stature of La Pampa slip quietly by. Huge talent in the lead Sayyid El Alamo carries the viewer through the dust-ups and sharp corners of a story that makes motorcross the vehicle of expression for young men's difficulties with their fathers that must have an out. Bravo!!!

The updated apocalypse

La Pampa reveals itself as an exceptionally intelligent film, whose central strength lies in the subtlety and depth with which it tackles themes of prejudice-particularly homophobia-while simultaneously dissecting the very structure of contemporary society. The director approaches these issues through a distinctly humanistic lens, exploring the restlessness of individuals facing the universal processes of personal growth, grief, and the quest for social acceptance. One of the film's most striking conceptual achievements lies in its reimagining of the "apocalypse." Rather than the biblical misreading of the end of the world, it is portrayed as the end of an era-an inevitable collapse that opens the door to transformation. The narrative invites viewers to consider that each person, within their own journey, may also undergo a kind of inner apocalypse: the death of one self and the rebirth of another. This notion is elegantly embodied in the two protagonists-one dying, the other reborn-each representing the moral and emotional renewal that emerges from rejecting prejudice and embracing humanist values.Visually refined, tonally balanced between humor and tragedy, and accompanied by a superb soundtrack and outstanding performances, La Pampa stands out as a film of rare sensitivity and intelligence. It is, without doubt, a highly recommended work for those who value cinema that dares to think beyond the surface.
