Bluey in the flesh! Sort of

Dad's mobile phone battery is flat. Bingo is copying Bluey and Bluey is not amused. An extended-length episode of Bluey, staged and filmed in a theatre using human-sized dolls and the original cast's voices, watched by hundreds of spellbound children and their parents.A novel episode of Bluey, being about 45 instead of 7 minutes long, being filmed in a theatre rather than being animated and being watched by a live audience. I initially thought the duration would remove much of the punchiness of the story and the stage production would remove some of the nuance that made Bluey more than just a kid's show but, thankfully, I was wrong. The heart and warmth of Bluey is still there and this works just as well as a usual TV episode.The stage production also shows something that the animated episodes can't: children's reactions to Bluey. It is quite heartwarming to see the kids be enthralled by the story and see them respond to events unfolding.

So creative

My grandaughter loves bluey so we decided to watch this extended live play. This is so creative, it has real people moving the human-sized dolls. People are behind them, one to two people while the voices play. They move around a lot. It is fun to also see the people behind mimicking the emotions. I don't know how long this takes to rehearse but they do so well. Really good, creative way to present the Bluey characters. Hooray!
